GUATEMALA:

Though there is no set requirement for post placement reports in Guatemala, IFI recommends sending a report twice a year for three years. All reports should be sent to IFI. They do not need to be done by a social worker. The contents of the post placement reports should include:
  • The name of the adopted child (the original name and present given name), date of birth, recent photos (at least two), the name of the welfare institute which placed out the child up for adoption, the health status of the child at the time of adoption; and the name of the adopted family
  • The report, the contents of which should include the most recent information available regarding the adopted child, i. e., physical stamina, intellectual development, health status, the treatment for sick and disabled children, the attachment and adaptation of the child to the family, education and naturalization etc.
